Dear Players and Families,


We are very sorry, but this tournament has been cancelled "out of an abundance of caution" on the part of USTA and the City of Palm Beach Gardens over the possible implications of the current Covid-19 virus pandemic and it's potential for harm in public gatherings.


We had looked froward eagerly both to presenting the 10-U Green Ball Sectional Qualifier and to introducing of the UTR-based "PLAY FOUR" format, which, in our opinion, offers players more and better competition than the current system.. (It takes more work, more court time, and more officiating, but we were willing to do that to vastly improve the player experience, and encourage player development.)


We hope to present these features in a future tournament. If you are not already receiving emailed reminders about USTA Junior tournaments from us, please contact the director at the email above and we'll put you on our list to receive notice of further developments.

TIERED BG TOURNAMENT - UTR rather than age will be used to divide players into two equal groups of each gender,

You must have reached your 11th birthday by March 31, 2020.
You may not have reached your 15th birthday by March 31, 2020.

Competition will be single gender
Entry is first-come-first-served. Apply now if you are interested.
Entry Limit is 32 Boys, 32 Girls
An Alternate List will be kept.

NOTE – 12-Under: Given the choice of entering an age division, please ENTER YOUR NATURAL AGE GROUP, 12-UNDER, UNLESS IT IS FILLED. THE DIVISION YOU ENROLL IN WILL NOT DETERMINE THE GROUP IN WHICH YOU PLAY. BUT BY CHOOSING 14, YOU MAY BE EXCLUDING 13-UP PLAYERS FROM ENTERING. (If 12s is full, go ahead and apply for 14s.)

PLAY
UTR rather than age will be used to divide players into two equal groups of each gender.
Play will extend over 2 days for all players. Plan accordingly.
Best-two-of-three tie-break sets, match tie-break (to 10) in lieu of a third set.
Format will designed to provide four matches for each player.

POINTS/RANKINGS/RATINGS
Standings – Points will be calculated for ranking as for any other tournament, by draw size and your advancement
UTR – UTR will count up to 4 matches per tournament for rating. We will try to get each player 4 matches.

This is a qualifying tournament for the 2020 "Bobby Curtis' Green Ball Sectional Championship. Players qualify by being the winner or finalist in one of the designated Green Level 1 Regional Qualifiers held between January and September 2020.To be designated as a qualifying tournament there must be at least 4 players in each 10U green ball division.
