Saturday matches are being changed to allow extra time Saturday morning to clean the courts and allow them to dry if necessary. Many of the matches have been moved 1 1/2 hours, however some of the matches in the afternoon remain on the original schedule. The matches at Potomac are in process: The format of the matches will be changed to no-ad scoring for the main-draw through the semi-finals, and through the back draw.

Due to a large number of entries the sites above will be use for match play. The tournament is planning on using the AVENEL and Bullis courts. These matches are designated on the draw with a "AVE" after the time, for example 2:00 PM AVE is played at AVENEL, 5:30 PM "PTC", is played at Potomac Tennis Club, 4:00pm "BULL". Please report directly to PTC, AVENEL or Bullis if you are scheduled to play on those courts

From the Potomac Tennis club - take Falls Road toward Potomac, go through the light at Demoncracy and the light at River Road. Take the next major left on Oaklyn Dr (1.8miles from PTC). Continue down Oaklyn drive for 1.7 miles and the tennis courts and swim club will be to your left

A first Match Loss Consolation event can be confusing. Example: a player is playing their second match against a player that is playing their first match. If the player that is playing their second match loses, they are out of the tournament. If the player that is playing their first match loses, they will be placed in the back draw. This creates some confusion because the schedule is generated under the premise that the player that is playing their first match always loses. This is often not the case. When that happens, the back draw scheudule is impacted. For example, Using players 1 through 4. #1 has a bye, player 3 defeats #4. #4 is now in the back draw. If #1 loses to #3, then #4 playes #1. If #1 wins, then #4 advances to the next round in the back draw. When this happens, there is some flexibility in the schedule, so keep up with the schedule every day. If you see this might happen, contact the Referee and we will attempt to accomodate changes if both players agree. Hope this helps.

Please be aware that this is an outdoor event. In the case of rain, the tournament format may be changed and the matches maybe rescheduled to the following weekend.

No refunds will be made after entry deadline. A withdraw must be e-mailed to kingstownetennis@yahoo.com no later than Tuesday at 12 Noon to ensure that his/her name will not be included in the official draw posted on the web. Phone calls will not be accepted. If withdrawing before the deadline and have registered on line, it is the responsibility of the player to withdraw his/her name from the applicants list.
