Hey everyone,
Welcome and thank you for signing up to play the 2020 Cracked
Racquets Summer Championships event hosted by Cincinnati Saint
Xavier High School.
We hope you are as excited for the return of competitive tennis as
we are, and we cannot wait to watch all of this weekend's
exceptional action unfold.
Format is as follows:
Singles - 2/3 sets, 10 point breaker in lieu of third set, No Ad
Scoring, Lets are Played (junior tennis rules)
Doubles - 8 game pro set, No Ad Scoring - until Semifinals, which
are 2/3 sets 10 point breaker in lieu of third set

To ensure the health and safety of every player, member of the
tournament staff, and spectators on the grounds this weekend,
please read through and be aware of the following guidelines that
are in place:
COVID 2020 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND GUIDELINES
(please read carefully)
PRE - PLAY
-Players must wash their hands before going to the court and clean
and wipe down equipment.
-Bring your own water ball/gatorade and towel.
-Arrive as close as possible to start time - ideally 10 minutes
prior to match time.
--IMPORTANT - Everyone (including parents, players, and tournament
staff) must wear masks entering and exiting the courts while on
site per local ordinance. Please remember to bring masks.
-Avoid touching courts gates, fences, benches, etc.
-All staff will wear masks and stay 6 feet away all players at all
times.
-After checking in, you will be assessed by an official with
various questions regarding travel, symptoms before going on
court.
DURING PLAY
-Players should always stay on the opposite side of the net (six
feet apart from opponent) during rest periods. Whichever player is
on the side of the scorecards, they must flip the scorecards for
the entirety of the match.
-Players can only enter and exit the courts once approved by a
court monitor on the westside of the courts and sanitize their
hands.
-Players will be expected to leave once their match is done and
they have reported their score to the court monitor at the end of
the court and turned in their balls.
-Players will be given four balls (2 of which will be marked
specifically for their use - do not use your opponents ball during
play) - Player 1 takes one set of numbered balls and player 2 takes
the other set of balls.
-Only pick up your set of number balls and use your racquet (not
your hand) to advance the ball to the other side of the court or to
other balls from other courts.
-Stay at least six feet apart and do not make physical contact with
other players. -Avoid using hands to pick up balls.
-Avoid touching your face after handling a ball, racquet, or other
equipment. -DO NOT share food, drinks, or towels.
-Remain six feet apart from other players during breaks and
changeovers.
POST - PLAY
-No handshakes - racquet tap instead.
-Leave the court as soon as possible.
-Report score to official/tournament desk prior to leaving the
facility.
-Wash your hands after coming off court.
-Do no use locker room or changing area - change and shower at
home/hotel. -All players and parents should leave the facility
immediately after play.
TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR AND STAFF GUIDELINES
-We will be continuing to monitor guidelines released by the
Federal, State, and Local governments leading up to and during the
tournament.
-No congregation on the courts or on site
- All tournament personnel will be wearing face masks at all times.
- Scorecards will be sanitized after each match.
-Surfaces - such as counters, tabletops, doorknobs, bathroom
fixtures, and toilets - will be cleaned regularly.

This tournament format will be 2 out of 3 sets, with a 10-point
match tiebreaker in lieu of the 3rd set and no ad scoring (lets
will be played per junior USTA rules).
Seeding
Tournament Director will use the following for rating systems for
seeding purposes:

This event will take place at St. Xavier High School. The school is
located at 600 W North Bend Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45224.
St. Xavier has a total of 17 hard-surface tennis courts situated on
campus next to the home bleachers of St. Xavier Stadium. The
original five can be found near the main parking lot. In 2017, the
addition of 12 new state-of-the art courts expanded the presence of
tennis on campus.
